Curley, often referred to as "the Crow" helped guide Custer and the 7th Cavalry into the valley of Little Bighorn on June 25, 1876 in pursuit of the hostile Indian forces under Crazy Horse, Gall and Sitting Bull. Curley is believed to be the sole survivor of the five companies that rode with Custer.
